‘A Quiet Life’ tells a story about the underlying melancholy of bonding problems within a family.

This intimate film portraits a family in search of recovery, a recovery of trauma and learning to find the words to express that trauma. As an artist and human I often see that in our society trauma is just for the person who experiences it. There is a silence surrounding them. The silence starts out as something protective, but over time it can turn into something that oppresses them instead of the other way around.

Through this movie I want to show the importance of finding a vocabulary that does justice to the complexity and multiformity of the experience of trauma, so they will learn how to express their feelings. The most important thing for those who are hurt is that they will learn how to connect with others and themselves.
