Almost Touching

My performance takes place in the online environment of videochat. Through synchronous movements and sensations of touch I make a physical connection with the viewer. In our exchange the limits between viewer and performer begins to fade. I want to create an intimate relationship with the viewer. Instead of relaying a message, I want to converse. The viewer becomes the partaker and acts as a vital player in the artwork.

My work is about intimacy and physical contact. I want to explore our ability to connect with each other, to become part of something bigger than yourself. Humans are herd animals who thrive in cooperation, though circumstances can block this innate ability and might lead us to forget how much we need it. I want to remind people of this essential need, this human strength.
