Ik doe eventjes niet mee

“ik doe eventjes niet mee” is an autonomous project that deals with my own fears of social pressure and fear of failure. By making myself vulnerable to the outside world, I hope to stimulate others to think about their own fears and sadness. During my creative process I start from pure honesty with my fears: the fear of not belonging and not doing things well enough.

So my image arises from intuition and the choices I make are based on feelings. I make adjustments in my image by adding layers, materials and colours. The layers I add represent the deeper layers that each person has and the developments that a person can go through. I strive to find a balance in my image between reality and the mask that you as a human being often put on.
