I always try to depict my stories with a slight disregard for realism, I don’t think it’s necessary for the worlds in my movie to make sense. OUR world doesn’t make much sense, but we can understand each others feelings if we try anyway.

Haru is a short film about growing up in this day and age, or rather avoiding to grow up. Haru, a young man in his mid 20’s stands at the edge of his childhood. When most people his age start to become working members of society he rather runs away into a forest to start his career as a samurai. How long can you keep avoiding something all of us will have to face one day or another? And what will Haru do once his biggest fear faces him in the form of his own father. A man who has been running away from his responsibilities for so long that he thinks of himself as the greatest samurai of his time.
