Through a queer lens I write about multiplicity of love, and I dare to question it and explore different perspectives.

As a screenwriter and hopeless romantic, I am intrigued by the themes surrounding human relationships. Despite my obsession with love, I am not afraid to take off my rose-colored glasses and write about the ugly and desperate sides of infatuation. Through a queer lens, I write about multiplicity of love, and I dare to question it and explore different perspectives.

With an immense love for my characters and their unpredictability, shortcomings, dreams and misconceptions, I elevate them far above the plot. I relate to the literary movement of realism, in which I strive for the mundane; ordinary settings, everyday people and their motivations.

Within the Dutch writing landscape, we have become accustomed to communicating way too much information to the viewer out of fear that the public will not understand what we want to say. With my own work, I put my trust in the viewer by not spelling everything out for them. The screenplay should not be tangible; the viewer must be able to dive into the emotional worlds of my characters without difficulty.
