Regrowth (Hergroei)

Regrowth is a graphic novel about losing and finding yourself. Our teenage years can be a turbulent time, in which it is so easy to put yourself last in order to fit in. This can go so far that you’re not sure who you were before you started changing yourself to please others. With this graphic novel I want to show teens that it’s okay to be yourself and that it’s okay to put yourself first.

Regrowth follows the story of Sophie, who just moved from the city to a small village together with her parents. Soon she finds out that she doesn’t fit in with the other students in her school. Slowly she begins to change herself bit by bit, in the hope of connecting more with her peers. Meanwhile, her inner world slowly starts to lose shape the more Sophie loses herself.
