Despite Everything

What do you do when it feels like no one’s listening? You simply grab a guitar, scream into a microphone and make sure that everyone can hear. Ondanks Alles (Despite Everything) is a project that tells the story of riot grrrl, a feminist punk movement that was mostly active in the ’90s. This exciting time in music history is explored through a four metre long tapestry and a zine telling the history of the movement, plus a personal exploration of how it feels to discover a true role model for the first time.

The tapestry is partially made of second-hand fabrics and contains over a kilometre of wool and thread. The zine is completely hand drawn and printed on the risograph, in four different colour variants.
