Garden of Growth

‘Garden of growth’ is a 2D frame-by-frame animated short film about the relationship between a mother and daughter in a highly paced society. The story takes place in a world inspired by the expression “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” and shows a loving mother apple tree trying to encourage her daughter, Ava, into growing tall like herself and the rest of the trees around them. She does not see that Ava starts to collapse under the pressure. What Ava really needs is for her mother to let her go so she can find a place without external negative pressures so she can develop at her own pace and discover who she is.

‘Garden of growth’ is meant to help start a conversation about performance pressure. It shows both sides of the coin so that neither role is being villainized and the focus can be on what the person suffering from performance pressure needs.
