We live in a world of endless options where the individual is at the center. With the increase in individualism, there is pressure on young adults to find themselves. But even though we don’t always succeed in finding an answer to who we are, we are constantly undergoing growth, even when it seems almost invisible. Growth is the focus of my project: we grow and flourish and need to be reminded of the beautiful things that lie ahead. I have chosen to portray backs. In ‘Groeipijn,’ it’s not about the individual, but about the entire generation.” With my graduation project, I want to represent this generation. We grow even when we don’t see it ourselves.
