Ik werd geprikkeld, ik word geprikkeld, ik zal geprikkeld worden

Tattoos can be intimidating; they’re painful and are pretty much a lifetime commitment. However, they don’t have to be all that scary. Nail tattoos are painless and only remain on your nail for around three months, the average time it takes for your nails to grow out. This temporality is also the main focus of my project “Ik werd geprikkeld, ik word geprikkeld, ik zal geprikkeld worden.” To help the participants reflect on their past, present, and future, I let them answer one of three questions:

What do you want to let go? (past)
What do you want to learn to accept? (present)
What do you want to manifest? (future)

Based on the participant’s response I created miniature drawings, with their input, that would fit on their nails. Each time they looked at the illustrations, it could remind them of the goals they have for their past, present, and future.
