Intertwined Memory
After someone dies, many personal Objects often remain behind. You keep and take over a number of these objects. You keep these objects because they contain a certain memory of someone who is no longer there. Unfortunately, these objects often end up in storage because they don’t fit in your own home or are to personal to display.
Grief and death are two topics we rarely talk about, but I believe sharing this happy memory plays an important role in the grieving process. I would like to show that the personal memory of things gives us a nice and warm feeling, and that they can be visible in our own home.
With my project I would like to transform the hidden objects into unique and bespoke wall hangings. These wall hangings contain the silhouette of the object and are put together according to the customer’s wishes and taste.
