Dissected, film consists of several elements like image, sound, and text. When separated from one another, these elements become beings of their own. I am fascinated by the unique qualities they hold. By isolating and magnifying these elements, I search for new ways of perceiving the moving image.
My graduation work is an installation showcasing three autonomous film works. One of my research questions is to look at framing, or the frame in diverse ways. For example, looking at it as a physical thing, or how a filmed moment takes on meaning and value via the act of framing. My latest work is focused on the concept of everyday miracles and how the moving image can construct an environment to perceive them as such.
