The Face of Disgust
Disgust can be seen at the nose, eyes and mouth. Often the head goes back or even slightly tilted. And because everyone expresses it differently, the face of disgust is never the same.
I am disgusted by eating noises, the sound of a pen, the textures in certain foods, certain voices, smoke or smoky smells and whispering. I could go on and on.
Talking about this with friends and classmates created fun and interesting conversations in which everyone shared disgusting stories and irritations. In the process it became clear that disgust shows mostly in the face.
My fascination with books and with disgust was how my graduation project was created: The book: ‘The Face of Disgust’.
In this book, you can read more about disgust and empathize with the stories of disgusting things people have experienced and see humorous collages showing the faces of disgust.
