In this era where our freedom to play is restricted by rigid systems and an obsession with an unrelenting future, I embrace the liberating art of improvisation. Through it, I aspire to unearth hidden truths, renovate what already is present, and to simply be present in the moment.

Technology has continuously evolved alongside humanity, but in our current era, an increasing disparity exists between the rapid advancements in technology and our struggle to adapt, risking a loss of personal identity and our ability to play. In the midst of this existential struggle, as we seek harmony and question the predefined goals we pursue, a fundamental inquiry emerges: Can technology, in its present state, serve a different purpose? ‘Thoughts In Percussion’ represents an improvised drum installation performance and a technical exploration, delving into the interactive possibilities between music, imagery, and artificial intelligence. Through a conversation between a drummer and an AI, both parties react to one another in a synchronized musical, visual, and linguistic installation. At its core, this performance aims to address this critical question by employing technology to unlock its improvisational potential. By embracing this uncharted territory, I strive to discover harmony and provoke contemplation on the present uses of technology while keeping intact our innate human capacity for playfulness and interpretation.

This performance will roughly last 15 to 20 minutes and will be performed twice a day with the exception of the 30th of June and the 2nd of July where it will be performed only once.
