Exploration of the female nude with Siberian chalk, a paper roll (10mx1,5m) and vulnerability.

Look at me, respect me.
Behold my twists and folds, don’t judge,
or do judge, but don’t disapprove
You haven’t seen me yet
I reclaim my body, like you claim mine
Using my body, the way you do
I do, because I can and may
Observe me with respect,
except when I don’t want you to
Disrespect me,
look at my tits

My work is about reclaiming my naked body.
The female nude is overly used, portrayed and exploited in, around and outside of art.
Women are always subjected to a certain gaze: they are often seen, presented and represented as sexual objects for the pleasure of the heterosexual male viewer, even women have internalized this gaze and have a corrupted way of looking at themselves.
By drawing myself from a first person view, I take control of what’s to be seen and what not,
I hereby regain autonomy over my own naked body.
