Disclaimer: This is not a manual on how to deal with loss nor is it a promise that loss will look like this. Fragile: handle with care.

If one of your parents dies at a young age, it creates an empty space at the table and in your life. With this poetic installation, I try to paint a picture of how this can feel. Here, you will find the stories of Thyra, Dorian, and Jitske, who all lost a parent at different ages. This installation serves as an ode to the parents who have passed away and to their children who continue to live.

There’s also a quiet corner with a mailbox where you can write and post a letter to a loved one who has passed away. You can tell them anything you’d like. I’m sure they’ll receive your message.
