I’m not the only one who bites my tongue. I see it in my mother’s eyes.

‘Mother – Daughter’ is an exploration of a mother-daughter relationship. In it, the artist takes the viewer along as she examines her own relationship with her mother. She delves into her childhood and the questions she has about family members.

Within the work, she begins to search for answers about her family’s past. She opens the door for viewers to recognize some of the feelings she ponders. This intimate work explores the inner thought process of a young woman trying to reconcile the image of her family with the reality she experiences.

She accompanies video archival footage with a voice-over. They interact to create a fusion of video and text that explores these themes. Through her personal experiences and stories, she hopes to build connections with others and encourage them to do the same.
