Prulleke
A passion shared between my grandfather and me. The bags he made in the past have been an immense source of inspiration. By delving deeper into his history, I have come to know not only him but also myself.
I began my work with the three bags he created for my mother and grandmother. I embraced my own style by repurposing jeans and experimenting with different techniques. I have embroidered, crocheted, and woven with and on denim, creating a seamless blend of handcrafting and sewing machine work.
In this way, I aim to honor his legacy by preserving the original shape of the bags while building my own legacy. That’s why my project is called ‘Prulleke,’ a nickname my grandfather had for me.
