Do Not Touch.
In my practice, I explore the complex aspects of objectifying and sexualizing the female body. I express myself using materials like textiles and chicken wire to create organic sculptures. The contrast between these materials symbolizes the contradictions in women’s experiences: a celebration of strength and resilience, while also acknowledging harsh and painful realities.
By presenting these pieces as lifeless objects, I cast a critical eye on the treatment of women in our society.
My drive stems from an activist perspective, but I playfully convey a clear message, leaving space for personal interpretation. I challenge the deeply rooted habits of a patriarchal system in an accessible manner.
By using traditionally feminine techniques such as crocheting and sewing, and rejecting the reduction of the body to an object, I encourage viewers to reflect on these societal issues.
