You let me choose the clothing you’ll wear and give in to my taste, surrendering to my view of what fits you best and makes you feel beautiful and sexy. You can dress yourself just fine, but you let me do it. It would be faster if you did it yourself, but you embrace the slowness and clumsiness of me dressing you. Don’t come to my aid when I struggle to fasten that one button; instead, wait patiently until I manage.
Through performing individual daily routines for each other within a group context, I explore how these actions can foster care and intimacy. I investigate how intimacy can reside in every gesture, and how care can manifest where it’s not immediately necessary, enhancing relationships within a group. I examine what happens when we practice self-care as a collective act.
