Woodland Worries
In order to acquire the last ingredient for her magic potion, a little witch must overcome her fear of the forest. Luckily, she doesn’t have to do this alone; her trusty firefly is there to help.
Woodland Worries touches upon the subject of overcoming fear in a fun and lighthearted way. It shows children the subtle message that our fears are not always rational, with an emphasis on helping children realize that they don’t have to face their fears all by themselves.
While focusing mainly on 2D frame-by-frame animation and character design, I also wanted to incorporate aspects of my everyday life into this short story, such as my own irrational fears and my love for nature and fairy tales.
