During the Graduation Research Hub in May, three graduate master students from the Master Institute of Visual Cultures were selected as nominees for the EKP Excellence in Research Award 2022. The students have completed one of the three pathways of Master of Fine Arts programme: Ecology Futures, Situated Design or Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice.
On June 30th at 14:00, the winner for the EKP Award will be announced by jury in a ceremony in front of the academy building in Den Bosch. The jury will visit the nominees’ work at the Now Show exhibition and along with an audience, listen to their project pitches in the form of inspiring presentations.

About the EKP Award
The EKP Excellence in Research Award is an annual award of € 2,500 for the best graduate research at master level, sponsored by SDK Vastgoed. The award acknowledges students’ creative ability to progress novel ideas into stimulating works and accentuates the transformative potential of artists and designers in the world.
This year, external experts Lorenzo Gerbi and Gabirelle Kennedy nominated a student from Situated Design, Niekolaas Lekkerkerk and Irina Shapiro for Ecology Futures and Nikos Doulos and Bo Wang for Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary Practice.
